Change it to dd/mm/yyyy, thanks. (Yes I know a lot of people here will presumably expect mm/dd/yyyy, screw them! Or make it an option or some such)
Why do you want Kawa to force it to the wrong format?

I say ISO or none at all... :D
I say all date stamps should be presented in Unix time. If you were born before 1970, YOU DON'T EXIST.

Compromise. Change it to yy/mm/dd/yy (20/11/26/18 for today)
The century is clearly different than the year, and should be separate.

If your browser, for whatever reason, doesn't do date-type inputs at all, it should use yyyy-mm-dd. That's the format date-type is supposed to use for its raw value, and what the board now expects to find.
PINKO COMMIE DATE FORMAT!

Oh, good. I was having an existential crisis there. Thought I might have to see about getting my date of birth legally changed to Feb. 28.
Go for the leap day. Feb 29 would be an awesome spawndate.

At this point, Microsoft should split itself in two companies: the Azure-powered, FOSS-embracing, new-and-totally-not-evil Nadella-led Microsoft (the Microsoft I actually like seeing), and the consumer software and devices ol-MS-of-yesteryesterday which we can simply ignore while the Joe Facebooks of the world move away from Real Computers.
I can see myself agreeing with this entirely. Just one question: which one'll be MICROS~1?
Whichever one creates the directory first.

I wonder if any 64-bit app would workt he same way
Firefox is exclusively 64bit now, MSPaint is still 32bit iirc. I was just using the term Win32 to differentiate Apps from sensible programs (what term would you use instead?).

To differentiate applications from applications?

I'm guessing you mean Windows Store applications versus applications installed any other way.

Yes, Cryptocoin isn't real money, but it is a tradeable asset with value.

But so are, say, plastic robots. Or lists of e-mail passwords.

The problem is BitMain now controls roughly 42% or now more of the hashing power.

Yes, THAT is the problem with BitCoin.

This could damage BitCoin as an asset heavily causing many people to lose millions or even billions in asset values.

Isn't that business as usual in BitCoinLand?

I agree a game console without physical media is impossible to fly in the US today, due to how ass-backwards the US is with internet speeds.
Not even a case of internet speeds.

Retailers don't want to sell a game console without also being able to sell games. They did their damnedest to make sure the PSP Go tanked harder than an Abrams, and were largely successful because where you gonna buy hardware if no one will sell it to you?

Hi there! I notice you typed "digital" when you meant to type "downloadable"! CDs, DVDs, and BRDs are all digital media! It is a very rare system indeed that supports analog games(LaserActive and, ummm... LaserActive?)!

Even Exxon accepts it as fact, and has for years. While they were launching a HUGE "global warming is a myth" campaign, they were also adjusting their long-range planning to account for rising sea levels and thawing permafrost caused by global warming.

They're not judging me, they're judging the game. I DID call it a "trash RPG".

But I like some of the characters, so it is okay.

That said, I would be kinder to it than that review is. On the other hand, I've seen some positively glowing reviews that make me wonder what they were actually playing.
...
Honestly, I may rescind the "trash RPG" label. I've found it a much more pleasant experience than I expected.

I might type up a proper review later.

So easy you would get bored?

Cute anime girls?

... sounds like my kind of game. I would play it. Too bad about the "PS4 exclusive" part :/
Also on Steam, actually. Completely uncut... and requiring way more power than it ought. (It staggers a bit on a PS4, despite looking like no trouble)

The expansion content is almost all costumes that make no sense.
But yeah, there's no excuse for it to have the hardware requirements it does, and I'm pretty sure they're actually needed.

You guys missed the point. Online RPGs can't be played on Linux, and therefore they must not be something anyone would want to do. To say otherwise is to imply that Linux isn't actually a viable OS for everybody, which is clearly not true.

It is the same reason we're seeing the argument that Linux has better hardware support than Windows. It MUST be true, because to be false would mean that Linux is inferior to Windows in some way, and Linux is objectively superior in every regard.

Geez, it is like you two don't even know how to compare operating systems. Some would call this "lying", but the true connoisseur knows it is actually about presenting facts because facts will always support the platform you prefer even if they aren't true facts.

I might type up a proper review later.

That's what the thread's for, bring it on!

It is the intent. The game's gradually grown on me to the point where I think it is worth some actual attention instead of just naming it as a way to question my own judgement/shame myself. It has gone from being a trash game with a nice visual style to something I have no regrets about and am glad I played.

I finally finished the the Bloodstained Backer Beta today.

Hooray!

Maybe it's finally time to try out SotN in earnest?

It is always time to try out Symphony in earnest.

The original US translation and dub gets a lot of flak, but it is actually fairly competent and has a charm about it. Everything is over-acted and melodramatic, but it is a friggin' game about whipping and/or stabbing Dracula to death. I would EXPECT it to be hammed up so much that a vegetarian can't play it.
The biggest flaw in the original translation* is that Richter's lines were recorded in a bathroom, if the reverb is anything to go by.

The new and improved translation isn't improved or new. It takes the original PS1 translation, rewords every sentence to be different, many lines to readeth lyke olde-timey wordes, and replaces the hammy hammy voice acting with a lifeless script reading that exhibits no emotion or personality.

This is easy enough to tell in the first five minutes. The original JP script has a "so anime it hurts" speech about the power of love and humanity's justice. The original english translation goes completely off the rails here and COMPLETELY rewrites the exchange, and the "retranslation" just rewords that exchange.

There IS actually a fan translation that I've been meaning to run through.

*Excepting the item list. Virtually every item in the original english version carries a new name made from whole cloth, many adding in references that weren't present originally, often randomly. Many of these names are now canon and carry forward to ALL english Castlevania releases. But no one cares about that, people just complain that men are miserable piles of SECRETS.

I've tried. My experience with Linux is... not great. It is pretty awful, actually.
My experience with FreeBSD is a lot better, but... it still doesn't do what I need it to do(play games).

Also, Wine's compatibility list there is COMPLETELY unreliable. It is "crowd-sourced", and a lot of people are looking to add missing entries, not test comprehensively, so you can find "runs perfect" applied to games that display the various copyright screens and logo movies, then crash violently the instant you click "new game". Having seen a few of those in the past, and others that haven't been updated in YEARS, I have zero faith in that list.

While it is more volatile than stock in say for instance Pepsi or Coca-Cola, its still stock in the same sense

What company does one buttcoin grant you partial ownership of?

Futures trading is different than stock trading. And the entire premise strikes me as being shady as all get-out.

so if Wall Street and the stock exchange operate the same ways and means, then its a scam as bad a BitCoin

There IS an argument to be made there, though they DON'T operate the same way.
I wouldn't say it is on the same level, since the actual promise is "you will own a sliver of the company you bought a share of", and it is kept. Everything else is people using the stock market for things it wasn't really meant for. The primary intent behind the stock exchange was not "you can buy a share of a company and flip it to someone else later when the company becomes more valuable".

Sometimes I feel like the only person who liked Circle of the Moon more than Symphony of the Night. Sure, the game was all but unplayable on a launch GBA (though perfectly fine on a GBASP, GB Player, DS, Emulators™, and more), sure the DSS system is totally broken, sure item drops are way too sparse... but I just love how tightly it controls, the layout of the castle, and the overall progression. The soundtrack, also, was top-notch.
I BEAT Circle on a plain ol' GBA.

I found it to be nice outside of boss battles, which were punishingly drawn out due to how little damage I dealt and how much damage they dealt.
