that new arcsys game looks pretty cool with the cooldowns on special moves. I never got to play that game from s. Killian that worked like that. Rising Thunder or whatever it was called...? |

Ryusei (Urien) vs Dual Kevin (Rashid) - CEO 2019 Top 8 - CPT 2019 Best match by far. There was also the Tekken tournament at CEO 2019 which I didn't see but from what I heard from the crowd sounded pretty hype: World Tour 2019 - CEO 2019 - Pools Day 1. Timestamps in the comment. Pretty much all the big players were there, including Lil Majin. Twitch archive - TWT 2019 - CEO 2019 - Top 8 Posted by hunterk Didn't know S.Killian worked on it. Yeah, never played it either. Granblue Fantasy Versus looks indeed promising. Leave it to Arcsys to take any J-RPG, non fighting game franchise and turn it into a (good) fighting game. Heck, I was introduced to Persona with Persona 4 Arena. I just hope we'll get another Blazblue as I'm not a big fan of Cross Tag Battle personally. |

Games: SoulCalibur VI Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] Dragon Ball FighterZ Samurai Shodown Mortal Kombat 11 BlazBlue: Cross Tag Battle Street Fighter V Tekken 7 Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Oh, and new SFV characters were leaked early. Lucia is actually an SNES-exclusive Final Fight 3 character, of all places. |

Honda's the only one of the 3 that I give a shit about, but I like Poison's hair better in this one. I'm looking forward to Samurai Shodown. I haven't seen any high-level play from it yet, so I'm curious to see what shakes out. >Under Night In-Birth Exe:Late[st] This game looks painfully boring... |

Posted by hunterk A huge Genjiro army, apparently. Commentators mentionned it was like 75% of Genjiros in the Japanese tournaments, at least in top 8. edit: Saw the Soul Calibur VI finals live. It was pretty great. Soul Calibur 6 Evo 2019 Grand Finals And speaking of Soul Calibur: I'm glad Samurai Showdown is back being Samurai Showdown -that is, a 2D fighting game (gameplay wise) and not the awful Soul Calibur clone it was with SS Sen. |

Posted by hunterk There was indeed a big pool of Genjūrō players (which I called Genjiro earlier, my bad). Infiltration seem to be back, even if it's not in SF. This match with Valle was great: - LU Alex Valle (Galford) vs Top Fighter Didimokof (Genjuro) - Samurai Shodown Top 8 |

daaaang, yeah, that was a good match. It's crazy how much damage those black-and-white mega attacks do. Valle was still at like 80% :O |

NASR Big Bird (Rashid) VS. RB Bonchan (Karin) EVO 2019 Grand FInals - CPT 2019 It's really too bad Bonchan is forced to play Karin because Sagat just isn't strong enough in many matchups as I'm sure he would have prefered to main him (he did picked him against Infexious) like he did in IV. Super Smash Bros. Ultimate Evo 2019 Grand Finals Normally, I don't watch (or play) Smash but this was a good final I think. One thing to note for me, watching this game in anything other than 60fps is awful, much worse than watching say Tekken 7 in 30fps. Soul Calibur VI new season and new character And for once a guest character that make sense in the game's universe. Tekken 7 new season reveal New Guilty Gear Really, only Capcom was left out of any new announcement because of the leak. But overall, pretty good EVO. edit: Not from this Evo but that was a hype Tekken final last May. |

Posted by hunterk He still has his 'bigail as a backup character for certain matchups. Kichipa-mu I think is a true 'Gief exclusif. Razer Xian (Ibuki) VS AZ Kichipa-mu (Zangief) - Canada Cup 2019 Pools ChrisCCH (Sakura) VS CYG BST Daigo (Guile) - Canada Cup 2019 Pools Liking Justin's Poison. Seems the character fits his defensive playstyle very well. Oh man, those first 2 matches were great. ChrisCCH really had to work for that win, had to make a lot of gambles that ended up well for him. Nemo just didn't have anything for JWong's Poison. Back to the ol' drawing board, i guess. |

Posted by hunterk Ha, I was just thinking the same. Looks like the full game is finally being released. Gill looks pretty good imo. Random history but back in SFIII, Gill's blue/red asymmetrical design was mostly a way to showcase some kind of color swap effect (in order to avoid the SFII Sagat's eye-patch changing sides issue because of sprite mirroring). Final standing: https://capcomprotour.com/standings/?circuit=2019®ion=global&pg=1&list_view=&lang=en-us Top-32 but there are 6 places I think that were reserved auto-qualifiers, one for each region so some players in the ~26th-32th range might not have enough points to qualify. |

I'm not a big fan of how heavily some characters (including Gil) rely on juggling. This ain't Tekken :P EDIT: whoa, punk is in the top spot? Wild. I haven't watched m/any matches with him on Karin, but I never cared much for his Rog. |
